Why 3 calipers on the rear as opposed to... just 2?

It's a personal choice 2 vs 3.. me choosing 3 rather then 2 personally made more sense.. the force that you can exert from your hand is a lot less then the force you can exert from your foot so having two calipers makes up for it.
My two "front" calipers that are located in the rear are ran to my (left) handbrake. It's a repurposed Brembo wet clutch RCS19 master.
The foot brake goes to the p34 (small Brembo) rear caliper. My rear brake is actually normal (performance, but normal)
My rear brake master is actually half Brembo and half Nissin. The push rod and rubber is from the f4i the Brembo housing is from I think a triumph or Suzuki.

Default Work in progress

Not my first CBR, but my first F4I. Bought it from a guy who was piecing it together, wiring harness wasn’t too bad. Rode it home and it wouldn’t start again. Zener diode no good, bypassed with a 9v battery (for testing) and fuel pump primed but no spark. Had a little backfire even bought a new battery. Anyways, I’m excited to get her back to spec. She just needs a little tlc. ~01 600f4i with 48k.

When I picked her up. Ran fine, finally able to ride again. But always something though.

Nice bike! It's in better condition that I usually buy them at. (I have 5 f4i's now) they are really fun to work on. I'd recommend buying a Clymers repair manual. It's worth it's weight in gold!
if I were You, firstly I'd make a proper key bypass switch for a couple bucks. Then begin troubleshooting if it's not starting. And you're 100% sure the fuel pump is priming then it may be an ecu issue, or cam pulse pickup. Lmk if you want a couple troubleshooting tips.. I've been there! Specifically with f4i's many times. But these bikes are TANKS very, very hard to kill.
Usually I begin with.. check fuel, check spark, check air.. then electrical, then mechanical electronics, lastly wiring
✌️😎🤙

@brads94f2 Looks like you may have to update your user name in here now... that doesn't look like a '94 F2...

Day One , the day I got it. Last year 2022 Looking Sweet For its Age, only mods were the coffmen and that dub bub windscreen

Struggling to get those Auctmarts fairings to fit. Special note to anyone thingking about Auctmarts fairings... They fit well.. I had to sand and drill the tail a bit toget it to line up with the screw holes. The Front Faring as you can see from this picture was a major struggle. I had to do a lot of pushing and pulling to get those last three bolts in up front.
Finial Note DO NOT Get Auctmarts fairings to paint your Fairings a solid colour. When I ordered these I ask for Grey/Gray, The site said and showed a dark gray. The sent me flat black ... I have the emails of the back and forth. They were pretty rude about it. They have very poor customer service.

What I got was the flat black that was just very thinnly (sp?) applied. It was just primer and NO Clear coat.. It was bad and they knew it was bad. Before they shipped I told them it was not right.

Communicating with Auctmarts is just brutal. I tried to post my story on their facebook page but they don't allow negative comments about their products on their page. In the end they refunded me like 40 bucks and told me to GTEffO.

So I painted them myself. If you plan to get fairings from them.. all the glowing reviews and videos you see... you may want to take with a grain of salt if your goal is to have solid colour fairing set and not one of the replica designs.. In the end I like my own DIY paint job and colour. I did it with quality satain spray paint and two part clear coat

Did all the service work for the bike based on the service schedule.
New Chain and Sprockets Replaced the real wheel dampeners
Added Gear Indicator
New Levers
Painted Headers
New Tires
Hoses
Filter
Led Taillight
Got New Headlights but I can't figure out the wiring.
I will add more pictures showing the progression.

I just realized I didn't post a pic of my replacement...
2002. Has 4500 miles.
There are of when I [icked it up.

Since the pics, I had to raise the front and rear because the last owner was about 5'1". Added my Corbin seats, cut down the exhaust 4", shorty levers, heated grips, mirror turn signals, flush front side lights and phone holder/charger.
Things still waiting to be done (over the summer): Turn signals in rear pegs, undertail with 954 tail/brake light, push button rear seat release.
