That's the cutout in the fairing. The light is just casting a strange shadow that makes the top of the cutout look '3d'.

 

No way dude. Under that. Someone with photoshop skillzzzz cirlce that thing for him.

Its near the bottom of your bike. Its casting a shadow itself so it has to be something.

already got some frame sliders on the way, gonna be looking at undertails when i get some spare cash, not decided if i want a hugger yet. Then maybe front flush mounts and HID

 

Sounds like a good plan Monkeh. I think an undertail should be your first mod. That really cleans up the look a lot.
