Im going to buy a 2004 Honda F4i andI am a fairly new rider. I want to know tha correct lengths to lower and stretch the bike so it wont wheelie on me. So it won't wheelie? Don't be doin crazy things with the clutch and you'll be fine. Even at WOT you won't wheelie...the front gets light, but won't wheelie unless you do somthin crazy.

Lower 3"??? This has gotta be a joke. Some people lower theirs 1-1.5", but that's all i'd go if you want it to handle worth a damn.

And a 6" stretch...lemme guess, you want it all in chrome, right? [sm=laughat.gif]

There might be some ppl here who can help ya...but no one comes to mind. I see you're new...welcome.

thats the most retarded thing i have ever heard i really hope your friends told you that dont have bikes..

dont ever lower or streach your bike unless you plan on doing 1 thing, drag race.

it is a terrilbe idea unless you just cant touch the ground because ur a midget.

ok im sorry i gota post again lol...

You say you're new, thats cool everyone is new at one point. Just keep in mind your bike will not weelie unless a)you want it to, or b) you are trying to do somthing "cool" and **** up.

keep that in mind and you will be a safe rider with a normal looking non "ghetto fab" bike...

this should help with the lowering info https://cbrforum.com/m_172601/tm.htm

as far as stretching it. i wouldnt unless you have a show bike or dont enjoy twisties and would rather worry about straight line performance.

lastly if you are doing these mods just so you wont wheelie... go buy a harley .. if you want to become an experienced rider leave the bike alone (stock)and take your time and learn to ride

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT lower it 3" and stretch it.

you will be completely ruining the whole purpose of getting a bike like an f4i. F4i's are usually used for their good maneurability, or their extremely well balance point when doing a wheelie. They do not, however, make very good drag bikes.

Only reason you want to lower/stretch it is to drag race. If you're gonna do that, go buy a hayabusa or something and drop/stretch that. yes, f4i's can be fast, but not as fast as other bikes meant to be drag raced.

Everyone here is spot on, J. It would be a terrible shame to extend the swinger on that bike!!! As far as the lowering, if you plan to corner, 3" will get you into trouble. I think you are better off spending your money on the MSF course, and that will help your confidence and skill level. Get us some pics when you getyour bike.

^ +1 on the MSF course. I agree with everyone's input on NOT lowering and lengthening the f4i.

My brother-in-law lowered his bike (from what the kit said) 4in. This made it VERY unstable in turns. Also he was draggin his lowers in turns. He has a 05 ZX-6r they flare out in the back at the bottom. He also learned the hard way not to wheelie after doin this, because he smacked his drain plug on the concrete settin it back down. Almost ripped it off. I would think lowering and stretchingwould create a unstable, even dangerous condition in the tight turns. Needless to say after a couple weeks he raised it right back up.
