Default Last Year For the F4i?

Hey Guys, I just been hearing a lot of talk about revamping the 600rr in 07. Whan do you guys think the last year of the f4i will be? any one hear anynews? I just bought a 01 w/ 4000 miles, and some upgrades (perfect body!!!). Do you think the resale will drop really low once the next gen comes out? Is the rr the only 600cc sportbike left for honda (I had a guy compare my F4i to a katana, said its nolonger a sportsbike) and the f4i will just die ? Let me know what ya think! Thanks -steve

If your F4i is no longer a sport bike then what is? By the way, as bad as they suck a Katana is a sport bike too, as is the big old CBR1100xx. Even if they stopped making it there are thousands out there, and the aftermarket part industry will remain rich with new items for this bike for years to come.

Insurance considers F4i's sport cruisers...believe it or not, we get a better deal on insurance than the RR riders. I was informed of this by the garage manager at Honda.

yo mang...no one buys a bike to make money unless you go like way old skool 1950s bike or something...
buying a new car or bike...that is not vintage, is almost as bad as what economists call "sunk cost"...you're not really in it to make moneys.

what the hell is he riding that he doenst consider the f4i a sportbike?
you never know what big red is going to do. hell yamaha kept thier last gen r6 twice. they've got 4 middle weight bikes fz6, yzf600r, r6s, and the r6....
would you consider last year's R6 not a sportbike?

if it is the last year for the F4i, I'd love to see what they do to the current RR to take its place.

Seems to me that the 600cc marketplace is expanding, not contracting. As has already been pointed out look at what Yamaha is doing with their 600cc lineup, they have 4 bikes.

I'd be shocked if Honda dropped the F4i unless they introduced something new that filled the same niche.

Yea I too doubt Honda would drop the F4i. It's still a very popular bike and it doesn't seem like they're having too much trouble selling them, so it wouldn't really make sense to drop it. They may make some changes to it, maybe make it more of a sport-tourer. I doubt it'll just go away though... hell the Honda F-series bikes have been around quite awile, and the RR is kinda it's own breed, so I just can't see them calling it quits for the F-series, especially when they have no middleweight bike (750cc). Hondas not stupid though, I'm sure even if they do drop it they've got something up their sleeve for a replacement

they wont drop it
they will just improve and change the look a lil
i wouldnt be surprised if they came back w/ the 2 seaters

i know they want to keep the RR for sports/track
while the f4i to sports/street
as they always did.

maybe they will release an F5 =]

+1 I agree exactly. I would love to see an F5 with 2 seats instead of one, with a little more upright riding position than the RR. That would be a nice bike.
