Default Large Module in headlight assembly?

Can anyone tell me what the large moduel with 3 wires (red, white, green) located in the upper center of the headlight assembly. If you are looking at the bike from the front it is directly behind the lowest and narrowest part of the windscreen.

I'd like to know what it does because I am having electrical gremlins and these wires appear slightly burnt here.

Thanks!

to elaborate on bluej511's post, it is the bank angle sensor. it detects if the bike is tipped over/crashed so that it can cut the engine for you because you will most likely be off the bike. if your wires are bad, it could be shorting out. in order to tell if its working properly, you should hear the fuel pump prime. if its not priming, then theres a good chance that your wires are bad....
