The posts here helped me alot though, so i thought i should thank all of you for putting up the info and sharing your frustrations with the task. Now she is running like a champ....though i can almost hear the rattle in my head still.....

PS. does changing it out effect performance??(Cause she feels stronger but it me just be me)

That's hard to determine.

I asked the local shop (out of curiosity), and they said it was a 3-hour job.

It mostly depends on the 'oh ****' factor, plus breaks, resources, i.e. tools, etc.

I'd recommend setting aside roughly a day, and although you probably won't need it all, it doesn't hurt to plan in advance.

time will all dpend on a persons mechanical skills. Setting a day for is smart but prolly wont take that long.

Power could be affected if it was really worn out n the cam timing was off some.

It didnt take too long, i think i spent more time fishing around for the bottom bolt which was lodged deep within my engine.

I need to do this. Did you go with an OEM replacement or a manual?

I took me nine hours but people kept bugging me and I took a 3 hour break to go get some new washers.

Well I have heard that the new replacement OEM CCT's are made to last longer. They seem to have a blue dot between both mounting bolts to verify that they are the new generation.
Don't know for sure, I read it in a detailed CCT swap how-to.

Still, IMO, I'd like to always stick to OEM just for the peace of mind that Honda tested and made the parts specifically for my bike.
