Reason I asked about your riding experience is that you should be able to feel something "not right" on a sedate test ride. Abnormal headshake, bottoming out too easily despite suspension adjustments, ect.

Felt the low tire pressure and brake fluid the first time I road mine (yes, yes I shoulda slapped a tire gauge on before riding ). Which reminds me: check the brake fluid. Mine looked like a horse with a UTI pissed in my reservoirs. Had a nice, snotty consistency too. And Ororo is only an 06

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it, and i'm really happy to have the bike.

I'll definitely get new fluids in before the riding season starts, and try to feel for whatever other sorts of maintenance is needed. Does anyone recommend anything specific for a bike over 30k miles? I don't really think 30k is that much for a 10 year old bike, but the bike has definitely been tracked and seen it's share of falls.

Thanks again, and hopefully 2011 will have a month with me as a winner

Kurosh, yea i know what you're talking about. I have friends that are much better at feeling those things out than i am. I think i'll be able to feel out more basic things, but since i haven't been able to take it for a good ride, due to weather, i'll have to wait and see.

Congrats on the purchase. You're gonna have a blast. Just remember to ride safe and wear your lid at all times.

Thanks for clearing that one up Sparkie.

As for the price you paid for her..... yeah it sounds pretty good to me. Just hope you don't find any nasties under the covers. If she sounds crisp and revs through the range with plenty of spirit then you probably won't.

Pretty much every topic has been covered on this forum so you won't have to go far for advice if you need it. Enjoy riding her.
