You may remeber my post about an f4i as a start bike. Well I decided I didn't want go bike hopping and went with a f4i. I finally got the money together and looking for an f4i to buy I've seen two in my area that I might buy. Thus in lies my questions. One bike has 9k miles they want 4,500 the other is on ebay and has only 2k miles and as of right now the current bid is 4k dollers. Ideally the 4k bike is a great steal but if I don't win the auction is the 9k miles for 4,500 a good deal?

Ebay scares me... but if you can be assured that the bike is legit and can get it for less than 5k, it would be a great deal. The 9k bike for 4500 seems good to me, I am looking to sell my 13k mile '01 for that price come spring time, so I think 4500 for an '02 is good. Hell maybe you can get him even lower. Just be prepared to replace the cct, if it hasnt been replaced by the previous owner. You can even use the fact that it will need a new cct to get him to lower his price, also check tires. Tires can add $300 to any new motorcycle purchase. Didnt '02's come with 10 less horespower than the '01 model? Lol, if so even better for a new rider.

 

I'm not used to the bike short hand writing whats a cct? Also the tires on the yellow have just been replaced by previous owner.

So did you get the bike?

I was also looking at a bike on Ebay, but the only reason was that the bikes were in my state and I could of gone to take a look at it in person and maybe test ride it. No way would I purchase a bike on Ebay from a different state where they would have to ship it to me. Well...that's not entirely true, if the bike was brand spankin' new, then I would purchase a bike from out of state and have it delivered.

 

I'm in the middle of a deal right now. I saw it though ebay and talked to him the bike is in PA. Luckly i have an uncle who is about an hr drv away from him so he can look over the bike. If he says its in good shape I'll have the guy bring down the bike. Then I'll take a look along with my other uncle who is a guru with bikes and then if all is good I should have a bike by 26 or 27. I'll post pictures of course when the deal is done!!
