Ray Ray,
Please be careful. We have lost quite a few people from this forum lately. It is hard to hear about a rider going down permanently, but especially hard when they are from our family. One posted about riding at an excessive amount of speed, then he was gone. Going that fast is wreckless. You could kill yourself and/or others. Again, please keep it in check and be careful!

My bike munches a GSX-R 750 on a regular basis, sometimes two depending on our riding group that day. Short of running on a track every sportbike out there will outdo the rider. Rider is what is important not B.S. specs put out by the company. Racing in a straight line is a waste of time for a 600cc bike. They are built to corner, that is where they show their stuff. If you are interested in straightline speed then get a hayabusa or ZX-14.
As far as highspeed riding I do it. I've been as fast as 160mph (with a corrected speedo) on my lowly F4i. You just need to pick your spots. Don't do it on busy highways, city streets, or roads with a lot of driveways or intersections (preferably none). Farm roads rock. There is no substitue for the racetrack though. If I wasn't cool with the idea that someday I may be killed or injured I would drive an SUV.
