Thanks Shane, I know those can be found on eBay... Speedzilla.com makes some too... I'm still debating whether it's best to go with some like that, or with a 1000rr mirrors retrofit.

I'm guessing the eBay/Speezilla option is more likely to bolt-up OK, give good visibility, and it's probably the cheaper way too.

They have a great view of your elbows on the 1000rr. The integrated signals do clean up the lines of the body work. No big gonky looking signal light stalks...

Why spend the extra money trying to retro fit 1000 mirrors on your bike when you can get the mirrors I posted up earlier that are integrated and are MADE FOR YOUE BIKE

The 1000RR mirrors are just like the 600RR mirrors. I'm so use to them I know to move my elbows when I use them. The mirrors on the '08 are just as adjustable honestly.

I think it would be easier to get the after market mirrors made for the bike.

There's barely NO room to run wires through right under the mirror mount on the F4i either. The fairing stay is solid with no holes in between the two screw holes, so you'd either have to drill through your fairing and the fairing stay, or not mind the 3" or so of wire that you can see plain as day.

you made the right choice 405hp.. it would be a hassle of figuring if 1000rr mirrors fit and the other things that may happen.. GOOD CHOICE ON THE AFTERMARKET MIRRORS..

Actually, that's not quite right. I happen to have an upper fairing stay bracket and upper fairing in my shop. I'm attaching a photo here. The stay bracket has a hollow area below where the wires would pass though. You can drill a lateral hole and easily pass the wires behind the bracket to be unseen, tapping them into the turn signal circuit.

Or, you could pass them completely through and use a wire clip. There's plenty of metal meat to do that and if you put the wires in black shrink tube, they would be all but invisible. Either way, there is plenty of material to accommodate a hole for 24 gauge wire. This is such an easy install, I think I'm gonna buy the mirrors and do it myself.

so great, you'll have them mounted with a hole in the fairing where the old blinkers used to protrude out....what do you plan on doing with the holes or are you going to fill them in somehow?

Thanks Paul. I've had my bike apart many times, including replacing the upper fairing and stay. I've also used shotty Ebay mirrors with built-in turn signals. What I said was true - there's no way to hide wires without drilling through your stay somehow. A lot of people won't want to do that.
