I want to put 2008 CBR1000 mirrors on my bike (the ones that flash when your blinkers are on). Has it been done / can it be done? I love the looks & the added safety.

 

don't see why it would be hard at all...just run the wires through the upper fairing and tap into the existing blinker wires...no biggie....

 

Anything is possible. Will it just bolt up probably not but I have seen gsxr mirrors on f4i's so.

 

Do you think the 08 mirror arms will bolt up to the existing 04 brackets? Or will I have to replace those brackets, and if so, will the 08 brackets fit on my bike just fine?

 

For that type of question I would just take a quick ride to your dealership and ask if they have the parts in stock, or if they have an '08 in a box not yet assembled and you may be able to match it up that way.

 

by the pix, they dont look to allow adjustment in all direction as prior models did. I have a firend that has a 08 1k I'll look at his when I see him again.

 

i didn't mean to make it sound soooo simple....using the lights in the mirrors is easy...getting THOSE exact mirrors to bolt up may be a problem...for that, you will need to see the '08 mirrors and compare...

 

I've done the gsxr mirrors, i wouldnt bother to be honest. I've since gone back to stock. Im sure these would be a similar job. Re-drill the holes unless by chance they are spaced the same. Drill a hole between the two for the wire and change end connectors on the wire. The only prob is the adjustability as has been mentioned above, you may not get the right angle as the 08's dont have that rotational adjustment.

I say try it if you can find some cheap mirrors, otherwise dont bother.

 

Bumping this one up from the past... has anyone successfully put up 1000rr mirrors on an F4i, and if so how was visibility from the mirrors?

 

IF you are just looking for the safety of having integrated signals in the mirrors go on ebay! There is some sweet looking carbon mirrors with integrated signals built in for like $50.
