How much oil drainage out of vent tube?
I have 3 hoses coming out of my left fairing...i assume they are vent tubes for coolant, crankcase, and something random.
Bike has about 90 miles on it with 1 5MPH drop.
I have some oil seepage as there is a small spot under the tube. looks like about 5 drops of oil. this is over time. Maybe like a month.
Is this excessive?
thanks

my 06' does the same exact thing, i took about a 75 mile ride sunday and noticed a few drops of oil had dripped out of one of the hoses. my bike has 200 miles on it[sm=icon_cheers.gif]
if your sure its oil you may wanna check for leaks around the engine cause none of those hoses are connected to the oil system, 1 is for coolant overflow and the other 2 go to the gas tank so if you've got oil leaking there is a problem

there are two hoses connected to the gas tank, one goes to the lip under the gas cap in case you miss the hole and the other is an air vent hose so the gas can actually be pumped into the bike without creating a vacuum in the tank
the other one is coolant overflow, trust me on this I've had to rebuild my F4i several times and have run those hoses like 10 times in the past year.
motorcycles are not designed to leak oil, its a closed system and I can also promise you they don't design it so that oil leaks into the air box, that will obviously destroy your engine pretty fast
oh and if your bike is a cali bike (actually I think the newer F4is have it too) one of the hoses may go to a little black can under the bike, called an evap can just one of those emissions things, I pulled mine out long ago

the fluid coming out is darker colored and oily to the touch. wouldnt gas evaporate after it hits the ground? would it leave a stain?
this is an 06 so it has california emissions on it.

thats weird...i've been told all over the place that if i want to start learning slow stuff ( wheelies and stoppies) that i need to re-route the crankcase breather hose from the airbox to the bottom of the bike...becuase in the event that the bike gets tipped more than 90 degrees on its side, oil will get in the airbox and can possibly lock up your motor?
