RE: how much do you spend a year on your bike?
For maintenance i usually do two oil/filter changes a year, and usually something else like brake pads or sparkplugs..so usually around $100-200. Probably spend more next year to get the valves checked and cct replaced...but that's only occasional maintenance.
Now if you're talking money that's not really necessary, as in gear, mods, etc...that's totally different. The past two years i think i've averaged about $600/yr in mods and/or gear.

Don't know about maintence, but I try and keep it to 2500 a year for everything except the $$$ spent riding it (hotels, gas, food..ect.) but honesty I should should up it tp 3500 then I could have a chance of hiting the mark. I'll bet I'm up to 5700 by time winter thaws out, but thats not every year.

Too much, I agree.
Unfortunately its a passion. Hard to tell how much is actually spent. I beleive everything done to improve the riding experience should be classified as maintanence. I guess it depends on how strong your addiction is and how well your pocket can sustain the addiction.
Good question makes me reflect a little. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, who cares just ride that bit*h!!!!!!
