I just put qualifiers on a couple days ago... $210 for the set.... And called around, got into a dealer for the cheapest price the same day......took two hours and $150... it was $66 bucks a tire plus taxes.....

GOOD LUCK!

Harbor Freight Tire changer and Motorcycle adapter.
Add a extra axle and a set of jack stands for balancing.

It will pay for itself after two or three sets of tires. Plus I like not having my bike down or letting some wrench monkey scratch my plastic.

Not sure you can break the bead doing it at home....... BUT the guy did say If I brought the wheels off the bike the price would be $27 bucks a tire... But I dont have a front jack..... Just a rear.. and dont really have any experience on taking tires off and on........ SO I had to pay.... HOPE THESE TIRES LAST FOREVER........lol

My first set I did with only 2x4's and tire irons.

With the tire changer breaking the bead is cake. There is no mystery to it. Seating the bead on the new tire is harder than breaking the bead on the old. You have to have a decent compressor to seat the bead.

Blackdog has it correct. The way I do it is harbor freight special. Now breaking the front tire bead really easy. Some may not like it, but if your careful no scratches when your done. The way I break the front bead is lay the tire on a towel on the driveway, then use my buddy's bike and using his kickstand and a little patience lay it right next to the rim/tire and voila!! Now the back tire, I know I will prolly get flamed, but the way i do it is lay it in the grass and pull my truck have my buddy line it up and drive forward till it breaks free. I did have to go out and buy a bigger compressor because setting the bead was a PITA with a small volume air compressor.

Hope this helps and GL!!

Rubber down, Plastic up!!
