My fan is currently not connected to the fan motor...and the other day in traffic it got up to 254. At which point the red idiot light came on, a little temp picture showed up on the display, and the temp number started blinking. The traffic than began moving and the temp dropped from there.

I got home and checked everything...no weird noises, no leaks, coolant level good in radiator and resivior.

 

I have brand new 2006 F4i. Fan kicks in at 222. Temp never goes up 225-230.

 

Hmmm..... idk then i started the bike and let it get to 190 then rev it till 235 and then left the bike idle and it got up to 235~239 fan was going on and off to keep it under 231... (my fan goes on at 231) hmm maybe its time for an oil change just in case....ill do it myself ...anyone know what oil i should put in here?

 

2002 F4i, ambient temperature is 100+ and my temp has never gone over 225. Fan kicks in at around 222. Temp fluctuates between 190-210 while riding.

ok, anyone know i go about setting the fan to kick on at 222 not 231?

 

One thing I tried to get the bike to run a little cool is that I tried AMS oil 20-50 for the oil change. I'm sure it's taken a little off my milage with the thicker oil. But have seen a change in howfast it heats up on the temp.

 

Ya the 1 time that my bike got past 226 was because i had a blown fuse for the fan fan kicks on at around 224 or so and normally runs at late 170s to early 180s

 

has anyone tried "water wetter" ? coolant additive from Redline i belive

 

I ran it in my bimmer. Worked great. I hear people that drive in warm climates only use water wetter instead of coolant
