How do you set the crank to CDC#1?

Default How do you set the crank to CDC#1?

I am changing my CCT tomorrow.

Thanks for the replys but do you know whatCDC#1 is or how to get to it by turning that thing? I read tyhe how to on replacing the CCT but there wasn't anything on how to actually get to CDC#1. Thanks again for all the help guys

First off, it's TDC, not CDC. Second, read the goddamn manual.

third, there is always a mark on the block somewhere, I just don't know where.

I just did mine this afternoon ---- It sucked ! Trying to get the tension off the darn thing and get that bottom bolt loose was a real bugger
I didn't even do the TDC thing, what for ? Rode it 30 miles home and it ran better than ever, with no rattles
The best thing is to have the perfect length of 5mm alan key, and to use a 1/4" drive ratchet. Ya gotta be very very careful to not strip them bolts out or yer screwed !

I didn't even do the TDC thing, what for?
Looked in the manual, and besides removing the throttle bodies, it didn't mention anything about TDC. In the how-to posted above, the OP was in the process of a valve check/adjustment, so it sounds like quite possibly TDC is not required for CCT replacement. I have read elsewhere however, that you don't want to move the bike (with no CCT attached) until installation is complete.
