So daylight savings either began or ended last week (which one makes us "fall back"?), and I don't have an owners manual and can't figure out how to change my clock.

 

Press and hold the bottom button untill the numbers flash, and then use the top button to change the hour. After hour is changed, press the bottom button to switch to minutes and repeat.

 

On my '02 F4i, the steps to set the clock are...

1.) Turn the key to the igntion position. (But do NOT start the bike.)
2.) Hold both bottom and top buttons together until the hour on the clock starts to flash.
3.) Use the bottom button to change the time, the top button to choose between hour and minute.

Good thing this was posted. I was debating on whether to leave my clock or reset for DST.

There seem to be plenty places to download the shop manual, but does anyone know of where one could download the actual owners manual?

 

I've looked everywhere for the user's manual but have been unsuccessful.... I could always buy one I guess - yea right!

 

Honestly it really doesn't say much that you don't already know... it should be 18$ or so from helmsinc.com though. The main parts are the specifications, and how to change the oil etc... half the pages are dedicated to safety and how NOT to do things. But I keep mine next to my desk all the time so I can peruse it incase I forget... so might be worth it for a quick reference until you know all the specs by heart. But really once you know everything about your bike, the little book becomes fairly useless.

Electronic buttons are simple, they only have 2 types of pushes usually. press and release, or press and hold. There are only 2 buttons, and if you hold down the bottom button, it resets the odometer. forget what holding the top one down does, I think change to Km instead of MPH or something. Since pressing both at the same time quickly does nothing, all we have left is hold both down... I never read the manual to discover that, you can figure out any electronic device by knowing there are only 2 kinds of button pushes... Not to be a smart ***, but it's true for microwaves, headunits, alarm clocks, computers etc... very helpful when coming across new equipment.
