High Miles??
so im in the market for an f4i and i found http://redlinemotorsports.biz/2003_honda_cbr600_f4i.htmat my local dealership..ive checked it out and it seems like a solid bike, the only thing that worries me is the 27k miles, i know this is high miles for a bike, but is it really that many, in your guy's experience do you think i would run into many problems?

In my opinion as long as all the services have been done you should be OK. Just check the bike over with a fine tooth comb and see if the dealership can produce service records. Also see if they have done anything to the bike.
In the grand scheme of things 27K isn't all that high mileage.

Yup... so long as all the maintence has been done and it's in good shape, no worries with 27k. Only thing that might pop up is the CCT rattle, but that's no biggie
If it makes ya feel any better, my F4i has just over 86,000 and it's still solid as a rock [sm=smiley20.gif]

I was actually suprised this last summer when I checked the top end on a friends RR with just over 32000 miles - no valve shimming was required at all. He's had it from new and has driven it hard but never abused it, compression was bang on and it's not touching a drop of oil, we did replace the cam chain and sprockets though. I have a 01 F4i in the shop with 37000 miles to do next but I don't know the history on it, and depending on how the top end looks will determine how far into the bottom end I will dive. I've found that the best tell-tale sign of an abused unit is the wear on the top end.
The point is that you never really know what's looming in the drivetrain untill you tear it down but rest assured I feel that Honda's quality and reliability far exceeds the others...

dude dont buy that bike for that price 4150.00, thats waaaaaaaaaaay too much for the miles it has, you can find a much better deal than that...You can get one with like 6k or less for around 5k or less if you look around, thats a rip off. I wouldnt pay more than 2500.00 for that bike with that high of mileage...Look on craigslist etc and you will see what they are going for

But for $4150, I'd keep looking. I'd say it's worth more than $2500, but not by much. Maybe $3k as long as it's in good shape otherwise. I see them going for around $4000 - 4500 with 10k miles on them around here.
