Default High or Low Mount? Point me to a discussion...

I've searched the forum a bit and can't find what i'm looking for... Basically, is there a reason, other than appearance, to choose between a high mount or standard mount exhaust? I ride an '03 F4i and never liked the look of high mounts until i surfed pics in this forum, and the members here have some sweet rides with high mounts. So now I'm torn.

I'm sure it's been discussed so sorry for clogging up the forum but if you could show a link that'd be great.

Otherwise, what are your thoughts re: high versus low, and why?

This forum rocks, by the way

@ R1 - I dig the muzzy... when you say custom, does that mean you fab'd the pipe or built the can too (with a Muzzy wrapper).

Also, I'm sure it's a dumba$$ question, but whats a gp mount?

@SICK - none of this helps me - cause that looks fricken awesome, too!

um well that muzzy was a old pipe I threw together. It was a zx9r bolt on muzzy pipe. I custom mounted to a yoshi high mount mid pipe.

lol hopefully somone can post up a gp mount, as I'm not next to a computer...

and my current set up is gonna be offset undertail

moto gp pipes are the ones that exit under the right rearset. ala this, but can be shorter or longer(usually shorter)

personally i like the standard mount w/ a short pipe. looks and sounds good. neither high or low mount will really flow any better than the other. some of the 'moto gp' pipes are just straight hollow pipes which will kill your low end torque.

alot of highmounts also mean no passenger peg. so if you like a chick on the back you might have to do some work.

not all high mounts dont require you to ditch us pass pegs (ide say its a tie between do and dont).. just look at my pic...

or this one

and the hollow gp pipes are cheap ebay ones.. ive never ever seen a moto gp bike rockin one of those lol
