I notice some white dusty stuff on gas cap. Today I took a little jiggle to get the key to turn. anybody know what it is or how to clean it off.

The first thing that comes to mind is aluminum oxidation. There are products out there specifically designed to remove just that. If it were me I'd hit it with a penetrating oil.

ive noticed i have some of that arround the keyhole in my gas cap. I usually just scrape it off, probably oxidation like incognito said. I dont worry about it, it doesnt get into the tank.

+1 on the oxidation. Check your brake master cylinder on your car, can sometimes look like it is growing hair.
