Default Help: Replacing integrated tail lights

I bought my 2002 F4i with what I believe is an early Targa under tail. The lights have pretty much gone to **** (image 0-2). Not sure if it was the bulbs or just the high temperatures in the summer but the lenses, housing, rubber gaskets, and adhesive (looks like hot glue) have melted or degraded.

I found some replacement lights, but they aren't very attractive and have no idea how bright they are.

I found some 2" LED clusters but none include a housing.

I like these because they have red for running and brake and yellow for turn signal.

Besides housing, this little black box is (image 4) is my only other concern. Anyone used any of the clusters above, have any guesses on the black object, or any other advice or suggestions?

Thanks.

So your best option is to just go with the 1 tail version all others will be red and then you will have to try to wire in the turn signals. The leds you looking at come in red or yellow not integrated.

Looks like the bulbs just melted away the plastics incandescent run hot so after years of running i could see them melting.

I can't say that I'm a hug fan of those little round tail lights. I guess I was kinda lucky, the PO used an undertail cover that retained the factory style tail light.

The little black box could be a tail light strobe when you hit the brakes the lights will flash a few time to get attention then go solid. If I get my new undertail soon I'll see if I can get the lights out of mine which look just like those but are led. If interested PM me.

I just bought some of the 1.5" clusters for my running/brake lights. I'll let you know what I think of them once they are installed. I am reusing the old housing from my undertail. I don't know what it is, I bought the bike with the undertail already on it. It looks similar to yours jtjr008.
