Default help a newby out

I just purchased a 2002 cbrf4i with 1300 miles on it. I steers really tight at low speeds and feels like I am fighting it in turns. The bike was in a low speed lay down and has road rash on the right side, no appairant frame damage. any ideas?

Maybe the steering head is over torqued?

May sound stupid but, it doesn't have a steering damper on it does it? And the tires have the correct pressures? Throttle and clutch cables aren't binding?

Get a friend you has experience on a sport bike (not just dirt bike) to buzz around the block with it or call and have a local honda shop tech ride it. They will probably do it for free.

What did you ride before the F4i? The transition between what they call "bicycle" steering and "push" (or counter) steering is a lot different on the F4i than say a small bike like a Rebel 250. For me it took a bit of learning to let the F4i fall into a corner at low speeds where with a smaller bike that wasn't a problem.

Maybe the first owner changed the suspension settings. Get a owners manuel it will tell you the stock settings.

I rode a cbr 600rr before this bike. The tire pressure is okay and tires are in good condition. I have an appt. tomorrow at the local honda dealer to look at it. I had one suggestion that it may be the bearings in the triple yolk, because the bike sat outside.
