Default Help. Is my F4i from Cali?

I have a code 23 I can't clear. ( o2 heater) I don't have an o2 sensor.

there is not an evap canister.

but my ecm number is 38770-mbw-l11 I'm not sure if that is a cali only ecm or not.

any help guys?

any other obvious things to say the bike is or isn't from cali or if that ecm is good for other 49 states.

can't seem to figure it out.

Do you have the stock exhaust on it? Look for a plug in the harness for a 02. Since you dont have an 02, there needs to be a bypass plug in the connector, if there is one.
If the EVAP can was removed, the solenoid should be there still if its a cali model.

What year F4i?

edit: Yes, it's a cali ecm.

Sorry '01

I bought the bike this way so i don't know what is stock. I have not seen any unused connectors.

Why would someone put a california ecm on a non cali bike?

because it was available? People do some strange things...

Take a pic of your exhaust and post it up.

Couldn't find any evidence of an O2 bung anywhere on the exhaust.
no connectors either.

any performance issues with running a cali ecm? besides the code?

The bung would be over by your right foot peg, where you exhaust runs behind it.

Yeah 100%

When I bought the bike the wiring harness was not connected so I had to go through and connect everything back with some help from a clymers manual.

Should I buy a regular ecm?
