Which way does the damn oil filter turn to get off, mine is stuck big time. Its a K & N and the bolt is stripped off as well, thanks to me.

I hate those I never get a oil filter with the lil "BOLT" at the bottom. Go get a oil filter wrench with the lil strap thing and turn it to right (as if you were sitting on bike). For future reference I use the filter wrench that fits about an inch over the whole bottom of the filter and you just put a socket wrench on it. The only bad part is for every different filter size you need a new wrench.

righty tighty lefty loosey.....

also I ALWAYS hand tighten mine... So when i go to get it off its not a huge pita

if i have a stuck filter i can get off i just cheat... get a long screw driver and jam it all the way through the filter and break loose then take off by hand

My last one had sealed itself on pretty good. I got a pair of vise grips in there and finally got it off. Mangled it pretty good and had oil leaking all over the place but it worked.

p.s.
I use the Wal-Mart Super Tech ST-7317 Oil Filter, the USA version. Not the Mexico version.

Mine was stuck, I took a awl stabbed through the filter and turned it off. A bit messy but it came off.

pretty much same technique i have used in the past it help is u either put a garbage bag on the floor underneath it, or a oil pan... once you stab it in wait a few min. let the oil leak out and then push it the rest of the way through and take it off ull make less of a mess that way

I went with the stabbing method, thanks for that. The filter looked like swiss cheese but I got it off. I will hand tightened from now on and not second guess the lefty loosey...method
