qualifier is a great tire...but it wont' last like your 207s as it's not a 'sport touring' tire.

what would be a good replacement for the 207. Something similiar. Or maybe just a tad better. So much to choose from.

so should i go with the Qualifiers?
The Qualifer is the replacement for the 208. In fact, if you look closely at the sidewall of a Qualifier, you'll see "209" there somewhere.

I've narrowed it down to Pirelli Diablo Strada or Diablo, Dunlop Qualifer or 208's, and not sure which Michelin I would go with. But since i have Dunlops now will probably stay with them. But... the Pirelli Strada's seem good. Just don't know, too new at this scene.

Ok I think I'm gonna go with Dunlop. Either the Qualifiers or the 208's. The shop near me has 1 208 left for $153 and some Qualifiers for $167. They have a sale soon but not sure if tires are included, if they are i'll get the 208, if it's gone then the Qualifier. I just hope they don't upset my riding.(207-front, ????-rear). I'm not a hardcore rider yet, but i feel pretty comfortable with leaning the bike, just not all the way over to my knee. If that makes sense. I don't have any problems with turns, or throttle control, clutch control, so I feel very comfortable. Gonna try and take off the rear tire, any help would be nice. Any more input with the tire situation would be very much welcome too.

later

$153 seems quite steep for a dunlop 208 180-55 rear tire. I got one from the dealer for $102. It does work well though and I still have a factory 207 on the front. I can't tell one bit of difference. You'll probably be ok with any tire really, but I'd definately stick with dunlops. They're one of the better tire brands.

thanks for the help dwhite. Sounds like you and me have been in the exact situation with these stupid tires; almost. I took off the tire from the bike this weekend, not as hard as i thought. I went very slow cause i've never done any of this b4. It was actually very easy. Now i just have to get a tire put on and i'll be back in business.

I don't have an f4i but an f2 and I had a screw removed from my rear tire...near the center.

Been riding with a mushroom patch for 2,000 miles. I am told not to go above 85 mph

No leaks whatsoever.... but I am a very conservative rider.

No speeding, no track days...just to and from work.

Just to keep this updated.....I bought a 208. It was about 150 plus intallation. I know its a little high but i wanted to stay as close to a 207 as possible, the Qualifiers feel too soft. Everything is back together now, just have to take it out for a test ride and make sure nothing falls off and the rear brake works.

I would just plug the tire. I have a plug in my rear tire now with no trouble. I plugged it with a tire plug kit from wal-mart for less than $5.
