Default Helmet Ideas

I just bought my first bike and would like to get a nice helmet to go with it. Does anyone have any suggestions. Attached is a picture of the bike I would kind of like to match it if possible. Please let me know what you think.

Sean

My only advice is don't write words on the helmet, looks tacky. Just about any design will work. Just match the paint colors and you'll be alright. Colorrite.com sells OEM paint colors for bikes.

EDIT-> Ahh here I was thinking you were going to paint it to match the bike... I subscribe to the Newenough.com newsletters and catch pretty sweet prices on gear.

I think the helmet sweet spot for price/performance is around 160 bucks (new). also there was a load of clearance sales last month... check around if there're more! webbikeworld.com has some reviews. If you're planning to buy something online, I'd say go to a local store and check out how the helmet fits beforehand, since the sizes are different for different brands.
and only get SNELL+DOT helmets. DOT-only's are cheaper, but this is one place I wouldn't skimp!

Oh... nice bike :P enjoy your F4i!

I bought my arai vector off of ebay for $300 shipped. I know its the lowest model but its still an arai and it is great. Its my first helmet so I didnt want to buy an expensive helmet ($600). Just try it on in the store then order it off the internet. The same helmet in the store here was on sale for $420.

I like the helmets that you can open up the face on, makes talking at stoplights much easier. I think VOX makes some, they are snell approved too. You can always get a plain helmet and paint it, or atleast add some stickers to match your bike.

Look into scorpion helmets if you dont want to spend $400. I have an EXO 400 and it's the most comfortable helmet I've ever worn, plus it was only $140

Modular helmets like that aren't Snell approved. Those Helmets are inherently less structurally sound and far less safe.
