Hello Im new here. and i just wrecked my 04 F4i :(
Hello my name is Levi, a year ago i got a 04 F4i as my first bike. Ive sense put 8000 miles on it drug my knee, and for the most part learned to ride and to love the bike. i must say for what i do the bike is perfect, some sport riding stints in the summer, and a two up commuter in the winter. easy on gas and yet fun as hell to ride!
Monday, some A-hat cut me off and when i changed lanes i lost the rear of the bike, im only bit stiff and sore, but otherwise, i couldnt be better! Im happy i didnt land in the free way.....
Soooo onto the reason for posting, my bike is more then likely going to be totaled ( from talking to those who know about this stuff) and Im pretty much wondering this.
about how much do our bikes coast to buy back?
and do you guys think i should go about repairing it? if so, whats the best way to go about this?

Ive found the rear set, for $100, the handlebar complete (wo brake) for $100, the front upper fairing for $200(wrong color though), and also a replacement starter cover for $100.
Im pretty competent with the bike, as i do all my own maintenance and also did a H4 bulb conversion, the right way, using two relays and running a new wire from the battery etc. i also just did new chain, sprockets, and brakes. not even 300miles on them
*sigh* i guess im kinda venting now. so ill stop, but much thanks to anyone who is willing to help me. i guess my wish is for it to just get fixed
thanks for listening

only reason why i mkinda in a hurry to get back on the rode... i cant park my car at school or work, but i can my bike plua the hole carpool lane thing and stuff
and the fact that i miss riding aftr jsut one day lol.
plus note found the cover for $70 from a store woooo
i guess maybe if i can buy it back cheap enough, i can get a difrent bike and fix this one up later? i doubt it though.... but i also have NO idea what the buy back price will be like.
thanks for the support guys,

RE: Hello
so im thinking more adn more so long as the frame, forks, and swing arm are square, ill keep it. so i jsut need to know what the best way to replace the plastics?
i can either go new or used OEM, which would be great sept i dont really have the time to wait forthe right used parts to show up and im contant wit hteh rashed up stuff, just not the broke n stuff.
second is fiberglass race skins, i had a bad experiance with a fiberglass car body kit, are the ones for motorcycles usualy better? IE just drilling holes, and no need to cut and reglass?
adn lastly there are the chinease plastics on ebay, are they worth getting?
thank you guys for all your input and support!
-Levi
P.s. why do all my commas explode into like 5-30 commas cause me to edit them out?

RE: Hello
If you dont have time to get oem plastics then go ahead and get the chinese special alittle more effort lining holes up but worth the money i guess. Race plastics are not worth it and once u figure u have to get it panted you'll end up spending more money. Still having a part that is prone to crack.
