Default Hell to paradise.

Well my hands took a crap on me so I had to have carpal tunnel surgery on both hands.

stiches coming out

so this was 2 months ago.No riding for 1 month docs orders,Says will take up to 6 months to heal.

So 4 weeks ago I decide to try to ride.It hurts like hell, but I missed my baby. All the sudden the bike starts slipping out of 2nd gear into a false neutral.
So Without any real experience motor experience and a manual this is what I had to do.

Found the problem .Fugged up shift fork.

Friend of mine sold me an 06 tranny for 50 bux in perfect condition

So I got her put together latweek and she seems to run fine.
Friend who owns the bike shop bought me a trackday for xmas.I was scared since my hands still ache alot.
Well we get to the track and my hands act up hard core, but I can't but ride.I rode in pain and ended up running off the track at around 100 mph and got to meet the top of a burm.Didn't wreck thank god.Had a blast even in pain and my baby seems to be running fine now Hopefully my hands are healed for track weekend in may.

Wow... hoping you heal quickly. I'm just curious, what made you develop carpal tunnel's so badly that required surgery?

Ya doc was shocked too.I have been doing manual labor since 11 on a farm. Now I am never resting. If I am not at work, working on bikes at the shop, riding.I' on the pc.

The surgery worked well.No numbing now,but the pain has taken it's place .Hopefully that goes away soon.

You don`t have any motor experience? Sure could`ve fooled me. That`s pretty freakin impressive ~ and atranny no less. With carpal tunnel to boot. You`re a regular John Wayne in my book. Hope you heal well.

What`s your doctor think about you riding a sportbike? Bet he don`t know, does he?

1st time I've ever cracked any motor open.Just made sure to follow the book to the exact readings.
Doc knows I ride. Before surgery I showed up to appointments on my bike.
He doesn't know I'm riding now lol. thx for the compliment.

a guy i work with at the honda shop is on disability from his regular job bc of carpral tunnel surgery
he only had it on one wrist though

his surgery was around 2 months ago and i let him ride my bike to lunch one day and he said it hurt like hell
his doc told him it'd be around 6 months before he's back to 100% also

good job on swapping the tranny, and having the ***** to do it yourself
the best tool you can have for that job is the honda factory service manual

Wow, nice job with the un-build/rebuild!!!

Sorry about your wrists though, hope you heal soon.

How does a shift fork go bad? Is it just from usage and time?

Again, nice job!
