I'll take the advice on the earplugs, and I'm wearing my motocross underwear with the padded behind

I'm also going to come up with a ditch plan if the pack weighs me down, I know some people along the way.

I've done a couple of 2500 milers on my F4i. The backpack is ok, but it should be kept very light, otherwise, it contributes to fatigue.

Fieldsheer makes a nice, inexpensive tailback. Here's a bunch more:

I like to travel super light on a sport bike, so saddlebags are a non-starter for me.

I must be getting old. I can't take more than an hour on my f4i before my neck is sore from looking up.

I'm back! put over 1500 miles on the bike, it was a crazy experience. I took everyone's advice and invested in some saddle bags before I left, took earplugs and a kidney belt. All of which were GREAT advice, especially since I was riding behind 2 custom HD Road kings that were loud as hell. The trip home we did in one day (~17 hours). That was very intense, lots of stops and red bull.

The only bad thing was that on the way down, when I was done riding I discovered I had lost feeling in my left hand (pinky and ring finger) I couldn't move them for about 5 days On the way home I kept my hand tucked between my chest and tank and I had no problems.

Key West was awesome- snorkeled, fished and drank enough to put my liver in a hurt locker. I'll post pictures as soon as my camera arrives in the mail with the gear I shipped. For now, time for some much needed rest.

Thanks to everyone for the advice!
