I picked up a stock muffler off of a 2004 and went to put it on my 2001. should have been a five minute change, but the tail of the header was like an inch too short. Does anyone know if the Headers or Mufflers are different lengths on different years? Or, if maybe the header on my bike is an aftermarket unit?

 

hey mate ive done the same thing did you ever get an answer? my muffler has the same id as the sticker.

 

No clue on the header. But curious to why you went stock?

 

Could it have something to do with the cat? CA models all have cats, and I know some later years as well.
