Head Light Use During the Day

RE: Head Light Use During the Day
I was using high beams during the day as well until... Twice my bike's battery goes dead while I'm riding. I get to my location, and then she won't start. I had to push start it. Fortunatley the F4i push starts very easy. I took the bike to the shop, only 3 months old, and complained of a bad battery or faulty charging system. They check out the bike and said there was nothing wrong. They charged the battery and checked the load and found it was fine. They also told me that if your not turning at least 4K RPMs, your not charging the battery! That was news to me. But can explain how city driving with high beams on can suck a battery dry... maybe? Anyone else experience this?

RE: Head Light Use During the Day
The high beam will drain the battery if the RPMs arent kept above approx. 4k. That is true. I was trying to run the last bit of fuel out of my bike before I stored it, accidently leaving the high beam on while it idled. It drained the battery so I though all the fuel had run out, unitl I tried to turn it over to be sure and it didnt even prime itself. I normally ride around about that RPM range though so It shouldnt be a problem unless you got crazy bad traffic, you can just shut it off and roll it along in that case. Thats what I do getting on post becouse the lines are really long sometimes.
