I'm in the Milwaukee area.

I did that awhile ago, and then I eventually got my undertail. Good way to get rid of that excess when you don't have any money. I used an angle grinder and chopped it off.

I cut my fender off last night too....But then put a HB undertail on it :)

Has anyone here drilled a hole in their plate to be able to bring the plate flush up to the light?

Nice looking bike (again lol), and I'm about an hour north of you!

Ryans, this isn't love connection-we're here to talk bikes.

when I got my bike the previous owner drilled the holes right under the tailight sothat the plate covers the key hole..its hell putting things and taking things out of the tail section.
I'm lookin to rig up some strong hinges on both sides so that whenever I wanna get to my plate..I'll just fllip it up and flip it back down..cause i don't like the look of the plate being low and the key hole showing

VTcbr 05-20-2009 09:53 PM

i'm with you on that one Chetman...the plate mounted flush up against the light would look the best---drilling a hole in the plate for the keyhole probably isn't the best way to go...hmmm, how to install the plate and still have access to the keyhole....................

Uniqsol 05-20-2009 10:20 PM

I guess it depends on where the key hole will end up if you put the plate all the way up. It looks like on these wisconsin plates you would basically be drilling out the lower part of the "W", which I dont think cops around here would care that much about. As long as any idiot can tell it is a wisconsin plate and you dont mess with the tag numbers/letters at all, I think you would be fine. I may be doing this soon.

What do you do with the wiring for the plate light? Just tape it up/put a stopper on the end of it?
