Default gsxr 750 vs f4i

This thread isnt nessarily about which bike will win in a race. I am searching for information on things other than just performance. Asking those of you who have road both a gsxr 750 and f4i. I have been thinking about saving up for a new bike and am not sure if i want to try the gsxr 750 or get an upgrade f4i (mine is kind of frankensteinish, but i do love it!) Are the 750s as comfortable, short or long distance vs. f4i. Really information that you guys have personally will help. Thanks guys!

Oddly enough, these are the two bikes I tossed up as well before making my ultimate purchase. I rode a couple Gixxer 750's and a few 600 F3's and F4i's. In the end the 02' F4i that I bought was a good fit for me. I am 6'1" and 165lbs so weight is really important for me. Also the placement of the rearsets is important because of my height. The F4i seemed to be the most comfortable, about as comfortable as a sports bike can be for someone who is 6'1" anyway.

Fuel economy was another big factor. With gas prices going the way they are, I wanted to get the most efficient bike I could.

My recommendation to you though, would be to try as many bikes as you can before you decide. I rode well over a dozen bikes before I made my purchase and I am really happy with what I got!

I've never ridden a gsxr 750, but last season was able to ride a gsxr 600. I prefer the F4i a lot more. It had the acceleration i wanted, and suited my personality and likes better. I did like the sitting position a lot more on the gsxr though. Good luck!

well since you already have an f4i you know what to expect from those. Ive sat on my friends gsxr600 and it was pretty comfortable but not as much as the f4i in my opinion. For a sportbike i think ours are about as comfy as you can get and you can ride them all day. Id imagine the 750s are the same as the 600s, if so i guess they wouldnt be terrible for long rides. Definitely doable. But like f34me said try out as many as you can man. Even if you cant take one out for a quick ride you can always go to a dealership and sit on them and at least get somewhat of a feel for what itd be like to ride. I personally wouldnt mind upgrading my f4i to a 600rr or something newer even if it does have a more aggressive riding position and is less comfortable. Plus you might like the increase in power with the 750.

i like the f4i alot better. my friend as a gixxer 750 and we occasionally switch bikes every now and then, and i gotta say, i hate the gsxr. it was nowhere near as compfortable as the f4i. i guess the riding position is way too aggressive for me. f4i has a good position but still gets up and goes when you want it to. ive had a chance to get a gsxr 750 and an r6, but i went for the f4i after riding the others. but i mean in the end, your the one thats going to be riding on a day to day basis, not us.

I've riddein both and personally i like the handling of the f4i more than any other bike i have ridden. In my experience, the f4i handles a lot easier/better than the gsxr, maybe because of the bulkyness of the gsxr compared to the f4i. The seating position on the gsxr for me was just about the same. The difference is when you have to tuck in. I like tucking in on the gsxr better but enjoy the riding position of the f4i. when i tuck in on my f4i i look like a turtle. Overall the f4i handles better and the seating positon is great. The gsxr is easier to tuck in on. overall, the handling of the f4i is what made my decision.

i guess i always could throw a 600rr in the mix, but then i might as well throw in all the other 600cc bikes in the mix too lol. i think i am just going to keep checking on craigslist every now and then. i am not in a rush but i know eventually i want to get an upgrade from my current f4i.

IMO the Gixxer 750 is not really an upgrade. If I were to move up I would look at a 954/929, an R1 or a ZX-9R for myself. It wouldn't cost you too much more to trade up and would be a much bigger improvement.

i mostly mean cosmetic upgrade vs. performance. maybe this summer i'll get a chance to try some other bikes out.
