I think they look really stupid. I figure dont ever put one on and if you do happen to scrach the bike you can buy one and put it over the scrach, or just paint it.

 

^ I'm with stupid. Don't care for the looks of them either...and why put one over a perfectly good surface? It's not like you're ever going to take it off and enjoy how wonderful it looks ever again. And even if you did the paint that has been covered wouldn't match because of fading, etc. If it ever does become messed up in that area, then you might want to consider it...but mine still looks great after 17k mi.

 

I have never used one and wear a belt all the time and only thing that happens is that you loss a bit of shine which is easily buffed out

 

scratches add charictor or however..dont have a tank pad aint gettin a tank pad if i want something for it ill buy a tankbra

 

tank bra's are worse if you leave them on all the time. water will deposit under it and rust, and your paint will fade all but under the bra....

 

i aint worried about the scratches though if they get to bad ill just repaint
