Looking for new grips. Mine are worn out bad. I am looking for comfort first and looks second. All of the cool looking ones have RR on them so they wouldn't really go with my bike.

Think they're called Pro Grip Model 719 Superbike Gels or something like that. They cost less than $10 I believe.

They are a major improvement over stocks, but I have no comparison to other aftermarket grips. Check my photo album for looks.

Make sure you use Grip Glue. I know people who say they don't, but I also know a lot who have had thier grips come loose in this stupid hot summer.

 

so i know this is a stupid question but how do you replace the grips?

 

How "I" Replace grips:

Get some throttle body cleaner spray and lots of towels.
Take off the bar ends
If you don't want to keep the old grips, just cut them off with a razor blade (be careful not to damage the throttle tube).
If you want to keep the old grips, stick a phillis screwdriver between the grip and the bar (throttle tube on the right).
Cover the bodywork with the towels.
Being careful, spray some TB Cleaner into the space next to the screwdriver, then roll the screwdriver around the grip to break the seal. DO NOT get it on the bodywork.
Slide the old grips off.
Use the TB cleaner to get all the old glue off.
Spread glue liberally on the inside of the grips and on the throttle tube and left bar.
Slide the new grips on.
Wipe off excess glue. Be careful that you don't glue the throttle tube in the housing or to the bar.
Let the glue set the recommended time. (I usually let it set overnight).

I usually remove my throttle tube when I install grips, but you can do it with it on the bike if you are careful with the glue.

Use HONDA Grip Glue.

 

+1 on the Progrips. I recently installed the 719's and they feel great. Definite improvement over stock. Easy to install, too. I went the hairspray route. It's very important to clean off the residue left behind by the old grips. I haven't had any slippage at all. Of course, seeing as it has hit 100F the last three days, I haven't been riding either.

 

So the bar ends just unscrew? then i can cut the old ones (i wont need them) and clean off the residue, then apply honda glue grip and slide the new ones on and im good to go?

 

Hey for removal and installation, it makes it a whole lot easier if you have and air compressor. Just take a nozzle and cram it under an edge on the grip and turn the air on. will make life so nice. works for puttin on or taking off. If you try to just slide the grip on you will be fighting it all day. Trust me on that one. Learned the hard way about this trick.
