grill modded into fairing

Just browsing the classifieds and came across this f4i with a grill modded into the fairings. Anyone here done this/ know how it was done? I think it looks pretty good!

his looks like they are bent at the top part but its just the cheap stuff bought at your local car parts store.

If i remember his correctly he hot glued the pieces in place. some people have done the very short screws but most are just glued in place it looks nice thou.

Looks like a big sheet of gutter guard... It's used for body kits on cars all the time. Lots of ways to install them. If you want to be able to remove the mesh later on, the best way to do it is buy some aluminum or brass tabs and use two part epoxy glue or hot glue, etc.. and glue the tabs at mounting points around the holes. Then you just put the mesh on and shape it then fold the tabs down and it will stay in place. If you don't care about being able to take them back off.. then just glue it on with something you have access to.

I did that with my first bike. Looked pretty good. I used clear silicone to tack the sutff down. Never had any prawlems.

I installed some aluminum mesh on mine. Paid like $8.00 for a huge piece of gutter mesh. I cut what I needed and spray painted it yellow to accent the other yellows on the bike. I molded the mesh and hot glue gunned it. I think it came out great and makes the bike stand out a little more. If your good with your hands and a little inovative, it isnt to hard to do.

I wouldnt suggest using hot glue to mount the mesh on the fairing. I did so and it melted from the heat of the bike+outside temps and made a big mess.

i will bring this back from the dead and say that looks kinda tachy to me... i prefer using a grill material like this... not cheap autozone junk thatll bend when rock or stick hits is... but hey to each his own
