Default Is this a good deal?

Local dealer has a2006 CBR 600 F4i for $5995.00. It's new with 4mi. Year end, price slashed, blah, blah, blah...

They tell me that the price is already so low that they can't cut mea break with the extra fees (doc, setup, all the usual crap). According to my math, the fees come up to $650.00:

$2400.00 *for my trade-in
+$4800.00 *they said this would be my remaining balance
$7200.00
-$6550.00*Sticker Price $5995.00 + TN sales tax of 9.25%
$650.00*This is what I figure them to have in the "extras"

$650.00!! Is that right? I didn't think so & decided to hold off for a minute. But then when I started looking around, it seems that $5995.00 is a bargin.

What do you think? This is my first new bike purchase. I will be trading-in, & putting the remaining balance on my credit card (so no financing involved).

Thanks for your help.

$5995 sounds to me to be a good deal. I bought a used 02' with 13k for $4200. If you like it I would go for it. Is it possible to get more if you sell your trade in a private market?

That was the plan (to sell outright), but I don't want to miss this deal.

This time of year, I would guess that deal will be there for a while. I would try a craigslist "today only" sale and see what you get. It might get you atleast 1-2 thousand more.

Sounds like a good deal...if you're ever gonna get one, it would be this time of year.

Sounds like a smokin' deal to me. $6k for a brand new bike that will last forever. Its really a shame that the F4i is not more popular, but everybody wants full race bikes these days.

You are not supposed to pay taxes on the portion that you trade, ie the $2400, or so I thought.
Sounds like you paid the going rate of 7200 which is still a good deal considering that included taxes. I now sounthern Honda in Chattanooga sells them for 7200 out the door.

Dealers can always cut that extra stuff off.. all it is, is pure bull****.. i worked selling kawasakies at a local dealer and thats the first place we cut back if you bitch enough and then we go "we cut all of that just for you!" its all extras for profit. and yeah they can cut it all.. good luck with the haggling.
