Default Gas tank paint bubble

Hey guys, ive had this F4i for about 2 weeks now, ive put quite a few miles on it, its a 2002 with 5000 miles. The previous owner would leave it sit for long periods and something that is starting to bother me is at the very edge of the gas cap, the paint is starting to bubble underneath, nothing too major, it just bothers me, i was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if there is anything to do to prevent it from going any further or to fix it. Thank you!

Sounds like a spot of rust developing underneath and it's lifting the paint. Not a whole lot you can do about it. Might have to replace the tank.
Post up a detailed pic of it

Yeah the gas itself and the gas vapors cause the bubbling..... just make sure to keep your tank free of gas and any other dirt for that matter... cant do much about the bubble itself unless you do some body repair and repaint

Incase anyone was wondering, i took the gascap off and i could lift the paint under the cap , soi trimmed it away from under the cap and theni put some thin superglu in the bubble, it worked well unfortunately i got alittle trigger happy with the glue and put a little too much in there. but it looks a hell of alot better than it did and it wont go any further
