Future Honda owner
Greeting dearest motor owners,
My name is Vincent Geldhof and I'm from Belgium and I've decided to buy myself a cheap 2nd hand motorcycle since I just earned my temporary motorcycle driving license.
After scouting and scouting and scouting... I found a 2002 honda CBR 600 F, with 21000 km on it, papers included, well maintained. Fresh accu, tires, only needs a new chain set but I've called a mechanic already and this will cost me 200 EUR. No problem.
I already talked to the owner for a visit, and he sounds like a responsible guy. Reason he sells it is because he bought a R1.
This for the price of: 2,100EUR.
As a motorcycle noob, is this a good 2nd hand price (hence the motorcycle is in mint condition)? I will always try to down negotiate it for lets say 1,800EUR.
The visit is tomorrow, 6o' clock belgian time, so any advice until then is appreciated.
Kind Rgrds
Vincent

mint condition? i don't know how many bikes are over where you're at but that is a good price even here in the states. about $2,793 and 13,000 miles
the only thing you may be getting ripped off on is the chain if that 200 doesnt include sprockets, but you say set, so sounds like a good deal all around.

Welcome to the CBR Forum Vincent,
Firstly congratulations on getting your temporary license. As has already happened with Rudy, the CBR600 owners should be able to give you solid advice on the value of the bike.
If you end up getting it, post some pictures when you can.
Cheers, SB

Whats your opinion on the price?
P.S. Did I post in the right section?

As for price, I'm a CBR1000F tragic and wouldn't feel confident commenting on the CBR600F4i prices - sorry. I'm sure some other forum members who are CBR600 owners will provide input on the price.
Cheers, SB

Good km on that bike bike and the price seems fair. The F4i (F4 Sport over there I believe) that I just picked up has 37k km and the price for that here is around $3000-3500, although it's listed for $4k with my insurance company - 2100 Euro seems good, that's $2800 here.
You may want to have some one you trust that knows a bit about bikes take a look at it, or take it to a mechanic just to be safe. Honestly though, with 21k km one would think the bike should be good, if the previous owner has maintenance records that would be a plus.

The owner says in his add. 2100, or make a good offer. So i'll probably try to downplay it (since i still need a new chainset for it).
Here's a picture of it btw:

This is the price MCNs winter-autumn 2011-2012 article gives it. For the F4 2000 model. Guessing it's in dollar it would be 1960EUR. As USA is cheaper lets say 2000 would be the fair price here (but the chainsets need replacement so lets keep it at 1950, 1900) . Time to downnegotiate with facts :P
