Fuel pump not getting power PLEASE HELP
So I'm brand new to this forum but I figured this is the best place to start. I have a 2005 honda cbr f4i 600 and it only has 3000 miles on it. I road it probably three times this winter on some of the nicer days and just recently when I went to start the bike it wouldnt start at all. after some troubleshooting of my own I realized that the fuel pump doesnt prime when you turn the key on. the bike will just keep turning over if I go to start it. I hotwired the fuel pump and I know it works but its not getting power when plugged in. Anyone know where to look next? or what the problem could be? PLEASE HELP
did you check the fuse?
if the fuse is ok and fuel pump is ok, then it could be your on/off switch or you bank angle sensor (it cuts off the bike in case of a tip over by cutting off the fuel pump power)

So I unplugged and replugged in the bank sensor... still no juice to the pump. I was reading about others issues with the same thing and they were talking about grounding and the kickstand sensor as well I havent checked those yet but my local honda dealer's service department offered no other avenues to check. its starting to get agrevating being that today is a beautiful day and I just wanna ride the thing again. how do I check the on off switch to see if its the problem? I mean everything else works.
Put the bike in Neutral then turn the key to ON position. Does the tach peg to max then back to zero? At that time, you should also hear the fuel pump make a whine sound.
ok so I got the fuel pump to work it was the bank sensor ... had my friend do it for me over the phone and obviously he didnt do it right... so now the prognosis is. the bike goes through the initial tach movement the pump primes and the bike turns over. lights work all fuses have been checked and double checked. I even pulled one of the coils to the spark plugs out and checked with a volt meter if there was juice and there was and when I TRY to get the bike to start I definately smell fuel as if the thing is flooded. let it sit for about 20 minutes and heald the throttle wide open to help air get in there ( someone said to do that on here) but that didnt work. I dont know what else to try :-(
+1 on the zero thorttle. Pull the plugs and let it sit for a few to dry the fuel in the cylinders. You def. do NOT want to hydrolock the thing.
