Found this "gem" on Craigslist. How much would it set me back to replace the fuel pump, maybe regulator, and maybe a new battery?

The dealer here sells it for about $460. Or you could save a few hundred and buy it on ebay, but run the risk of it being DOA or not lasting very long.

Nice, so I could offer him $500, and get the fuel pump for $460... under $1k!

I'm just worried that the bike might have a lot more than that wrong with it... haven't gone to see it yet, the guy hasn't replied to emails. No phone number listed.

 

It probably needs a lot more than he's listing, he said it has been laid down twice, which probably means it has been laid down on both sides (as if it was only one side, why say it was laid down twice? They'd just say it was laid down...) and it appears to be missing the mirrors. With one tiny pic like that, I would assume that was the only angle from which the bike looked worth anything...

But, I'm just playing devil's advocate here.

 

I would ask for many many more pictures rather than the 2 horrible ones he has listed

 

Yeah i've sent him a few emails, for more pics, phone number, any information, and he hasn't replied...

That also makes it seem sketchy... My spending limit is $2k... I don't know where to find a decent bike...
