Default Fuel problem?

I noticed the other day when i was riding my bike was sluggish and choppy under 2500rpms. Then later when i started it, it ran for a few seconds then died and i had a hell of a time starting it up again and keeping it running so i turned the idle up to about 1200rpms from the 800 i had it at. Today when i went riding it started to get worse.

It bogs and feels choppy when ever i accellerate from a stop or when cruising with the rpms under 5k.

bad tank of gas? clogged air filter? fouled plugs?
how many miles on that bike? do you have a power commander on it? anything you did to it recently?

BTW try to ride above 4krpm at least. It's a high rev engine. bogging it at low rpm will cause it pain. It doesn't develop much torque below 4krpm anyway.

I just put in a new tank of 91 octane which is what i usually run, its got 2500 miles, and yes i have a power comander. No other mods besides a K& N filter.

You said you were gonna replace your FPR, did that help? If it only has 2500 miles its been sitting. the FPRs seem kinda a common problem with that. Also did you check the battery? Underabout 5k RPMs the bike is draining the battery, so if its bad the bike will die.

I never got around to changing it. I changed my plugs tho and it ran fine for a few miles then **** again. My local shop said it sounds like its only running on a few cylinders so i had them put a zero map in my power commander so well see what we can figure out this week. I really hope its just the FPR.

You can know if the FPR is bad by doing this.. Prop the tank up, tilting towards the right (I stuffed rags underneath it) The FPR is on the left. Remove the vacuum line hose (the one on the left) Start the bike. If gas squirts or drips out then you need a new FPR.
