Default FS1 Fairing Panel Missing Thread

As you guys know there are 3 screws that screw in the top right hand part of the right-side fairing panel to the front fairing. Well out of those 3, the middle one has lost the threading somehow so I can not screw it in.

Can anyone recommend how I can fix this or if I can put another thread in it? I don't want to shell out for a new panel for such a small thing.

Many thanks =)

Its a rubber piece. there are 24 of the same pieces on the bike. Its the same threading pieces in your windshield if you look there are rubber things that poke through

I bought like 20 of these because i lost so many repainting my bike. They are 2.75 a pop at the dealer Just buy one stick it in and you can re bolt to it again.

They are called well nuts, and i think you can find them at Ace Hardware, if you have one around you. Also if the well nut is still in there (which it should be unless someone or something pushed it out) try holding it from the backside to make sure its not spinning. I have that issue sometimes. They technically arent meant to be 'reusable' since they flatten out when you tighten them the first time, and retain that shape. Its recommended to replace them when you remove the bolts, but i never do.

Hey guys thanks handy to know! I live in the UK so not sure when I can get them, but will bear the online site in mind. Luckily though I found them when I took the bike home (amongst some bolts) as they all popped out lol!! Lucky ^_^ At least the crash was only small!

Thereare two types of these fasteners. I recently bought a couple from the local Honda dealer and it's different from the original part. The original part has a flat rubber flange and then another larger diameter flange that you have to force into the hole in the fairing, with an awl or screwdriver. It then pops out and locks itself in. (Photo attached)

The other type is the one show as a Suzuki, which has a more or less straight diameter and merely fits into the hole, without need for tools. Although you wouldn't think it would, the Suzuki or straight diameter works a lot better. When you tighten the screw, it compresses the rubber and makes for a ridgid connection and it's a lot easier to install and remove.

Flyou. I got those exact nuts from my local dealer (as he didn't have the honda ones either). However, they seem to be incredibly loose until you manage to screw into it? Is that how it was for you too? (Yes I did end up losing more of the buggers...)

I am in the UK and there is a site http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk *I think that's the address* where you can get most honda bits from if that helps at all?
