Default frustration vent post

anybody not 100% loyal to the F4i? anybody frustrated with their machine? mechanical issues? wish something was different?

POST!!

I miss my '05 GSXR750 that i had to trade in on a 2001 F4i to negate the payments when i decided to go back to school. ARGH!!! that being said i love my F4i, but i loved my 750 a lot more.

Had a 87 Hurricane 600 before buying my F4i new in '01
Absolutely no regrets there.
Had CCT replaced for annoying rattle, outside of that no issues at all
Wouldn't change a thing

The first motorcycle I ever had was a 06 brand spankin new Ninja 250R.
No bike will ever replace the love I had for that bike, must have invested around 3k, Avon sport tires, Yoshi Pipe, Jet kit, K&N filter, Galfer brakes, Rex racing chain, Cosmetics including fender elimination, flush lights, double bubble windscreen the friggin works! jaja! Saved since highschool, felt so proud to have paid it cash, unlike many kids I would witness daddy and mommy buying them a new R1...
That motorcycle took me everywhere and saw 12 statelines!
I still regret and damn the day I sold her...
Bought a 03 Honda Nighthawk, bored and stroked, and then a 01 F4i.
I'm a Honda advocate now jaja, both motorbikes have never given me issues and I love ridding them.
I love both my ladies...but nothing will replace my 250R.

I wish I started on a smaller motorcycle.
I originally wanted an 08 fully faired sv650 but it insurance was too high.

I purchased my first fuel injected bike, 04 SV650S, that I paid cash for after having many bikes with carbs. Had it 1 day, put on about 150 miles before a car failed to yeild at an intersection hitting me totaling the bike and sliding and rolling for 50+ yards.

That bike had less than 1500 total miles, mint condition before the accident, Yoshi exhaust, dirt cheap full coverage insurance, and ready to ride for years! The bike was about the same weight, but just felt solid and heavy.

I love my F4i and as far as the 2 bikes head to head the F4i wins, but I will always feel so cheated for only have that SV for 1 day and not getting more time riding on it.

that really bites, its strange but a very similar incident happend to my friends Vulcan 500, poor guy only rode it for about 50 60 miles before lowsiding it around the block from where he lived due to a left turning idiot driver.

i really like the F4i it's comfortable to ride for long periods of time but there's little things i wish it had that it doesn't. a pee cup master cylinder + better rotors/calipers, inverted forks, higher up and back pegs, built-in shift light, build-in steering damper, about 2k more rpms, and a lighter overall weight. i dunno this stuff might seem trivial but it's not all about the performance enhancement. it's about the overall experience that these things provided that i miss having. yea and the CCT buzz really pisses me off too.

My first bike was an F3 and it was the biggest P.O.S. that I have ever seen. I dropped an insane amount of money into it. When I was done it was basically a new bike. I ended up dropping way more into it than I spent on it because I was rushing and didnt do my research. You live and you learn though. I purchased my F4i and didnt touch the F3 for months....then BOOM.....just like that it was gone. Stolen from my grandma's basement.

After dealing with that F3 I am grateful to have my F4i (even if it does have a super hard seat). Just think, it can always be worse.
