I agree, it would look better if you get the paint off the bolts and the lettering on the caliper. Try an exacto (SP) knife on the bolts and sand the lettering carefully. Not my thing, I like the black calipers personally.

It looks good because it matches the red in the bike. If you're afraid of not being able to get it all back together, I'd suggest taking one or two bolts off at a time on the calipers to rid them of the paint. Try a product called Formby's Furniture refinisher. It will eat any thing off will ease. Walmart carries it. If you sand the 'Nissin' part of the calipers, do it with a FLAT sanding block and go slow. It'll turn out really nice. You also might want to to the back sides of the calipers also, the sides where it faces the wheel. Let us know how it turns out.

yea im probably gonna take the bolts out like everyone has been saying, ill check into that name of remover that you gave me.

You mean the insides the other side right? well...i just didnt do it cause i didn think it was very noticable and culdnt really see it..i thought the outside was mostly all that is seen.

Im gonna try to take off paint using what you said...but taking the paint off "Nissin" might be difficult.

It shouldn't be that hard to sand the paint off the Nissin lettering, since it's raised lettering

Also, I'm not saying you should replace your front fender but I think it would look better if it was white and then you had the red calipers.
Having the red calipers & the red fender.....they just blended all together.....you need some contrast for them to stand out (which you obviously want because you painted them)

But the red does match your bike VERY well!

Are you doing the rear caliper as well?

im considering the real caliper..what do you think, should i do the rear caliper too?

I was thinking maybe i shuld not do it, because the pipe hides it pretty well..

When taking off the bolts, is it hard to put it back at the right torque with the torque wrench?

It'd probably look good since the swingarm is black.....it'd definitely be noticeable (a good thing)

You did the front already....so might as well do the rear to match

Just like they said....sand down the "Nissin" lettering or paint the "Nissin" with black paint. It won't be hard to do either cuz like I said, it's raised lettering.

why waste ur time cleaning the bolts with expensive cleaner? just buy new bolts after market are cheap. as for the paint on the letters get a chemical called ZIP-STRIP that'll take it rite off. while you go the brakes apart you should upgrade to steel lines.

ok ill try to paint that rear caliper...it might be easier than the front, hopefully it is.

How does Zip Strip work? basically paint over it with a brush and it will come off or what?
wont this work on the bolts too?

You could even paint the "Nissin" lettering in white if you wanted to totally match your bike

But I'd probably go with black lettering if it was my bike

So maybe you should just try and paint the lettering (black or white) first instead of trying to strip away the paint off the lettering. Just an idea though

And definitely do the rear caliper....I think it'll look sweet!
