Default Frist Track Day Experience

So i decided to go ahead and do a track day. Signed up for Nashville, TN on Oct 4th. Was excited and got there Saturday night. Went though 4 sessions in the novice group and felt awesome. The bike ran perfect and after the first session i was getting the hang of it and nailed every turn. It started to rain a little thought why not ride on lap before i take off. Coming out of the back straight way about to turn left when another rider passes me from the inside and slows down. Rather than hitting his rear tire, I tried to avoid hitting him and tapped the brake. Big mistake the bike ended up going straight into grass and the next thing i knew i was laying on the ground. Walked away without a scratch but the bike wasnt so lucky. BUT i was signing for another track day.

Sorry about your bike. Glad you're ok. I thought it was universally accepted that in the novice/slow group, that there is NO passing on the inside. Seems to me the guy that passed you on the inside, causing you to crash, needed a swift kick in the backside & shoulda ponied up some bucks for your bike's damage.

As for trackdays... Glad you had a good time up til that point. Perhaps at some point, you can get to Road Atlanta or another track that offers a little more than Nashville.

Ouch, looks like gravel and a wall to me. Good to see you're ok. I would think about picking up a set of just cheap plastic fairings. Something to cover your internals, but would be cool to get trashed.

after the 3 session we were allowed to pass following the 6 feet rule. Yea i had to brake so i wouldn't run into him. I tried to sign up for road Atlanta cant find out how to. None of the track sites list road Atlanta as an option.

Is that frame slider bent?? or just the plastics making it look that way? That thing is pretty ground down. Hope there's no frame damage. How fast were you going? This type of thing really makes me think about race rails...

the bolt that holds the frame slider to the frame is bent. I think i was going between 50-65 when i hit the grass/gravel.

I'm at college, and I'm torn between spending it here, or saving for my bike when I'm back in the states.
