Default Fork oil level

I've checked many how to threads and the service manual but I'm still confused. How do I know when the fork oil is at the correct point? I know it should be at "116mm" but how do I know when it reaches or exceeds that point? Thanks in advance

The manual will give you the depth from the top where the fluid should be at. Make yourself a dipstick. I use a zip tie and cut a notch at the right measurement (70mm for me but 116 mm for you if that's what it says) from the bottom of the square part. The keep adding until it reads at the notch.

Don't forget to pump it 20 times to bleed it before dialing in the level.

Your forks have oil in them. It should be changed with new seals every few years.
