Default First Bike

I'm in the hunt for a first bike and i was wondering whether or not this would be a good starter bike...I've done a lot of research and have found that it is considered to be one of the best starting bikes (next to the 250) but i don't have enough money to buy a cheaper bike and upgrade after i outgrow that bike...i've set aside about $800 for gear and frame sliders...i plan on taking the msf course this december...and taking it extremely slow.....btw i'm 6'1' 160...with that said, would this be a good first bike for me?

given the time of year, it's a great time to buy a starter bike. The great thing about a good used starter bike is that you can always sell them for about as much as you bought them. Many people have made a couple of hundred bucks by buying and selling at the right time (buy in the winter, sell in the spring). The f4i is an ok starter bike, but don't be fooled by what people say--the bike is plenty fast and can get you into a lot of trouble if you're not careful.

the F4i is not a starter bike. it is a supersport bike that can run right along side the 600rr 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile. on the track the rider would make the difference between the F4i and the 600rr. thats how close the two bikes are. on the otherhand, if you have enough self control the F4i can be a first bike because of its composed chassis and smooth engine. just take the MSF, wear your gear, and give the bike the respect it deserves and you'll be allright. also, you won't outgrow it riding skills wise

I have an EXCELLENT bike for you that I am trying to sell. It's a 2005 Ninja 500 and it has plenty of power for a beginning rider. If you or anyone else knows of anyone interested let me know. I am in KY by the way.

+1

also, the F4i or any 600 SS isn't even close to the 250 Ninja. About a 75% HP increase between the two.

Like everyone said, easy does it.

Confidence in your abilities can grow pretty fast on these bikes, so just try to keep this lil red bastard on your shoulder in check.
