I'm new to the sportbike scene and have a couple ?'s. I have an 04 CBR600f4i. After I wash it, is it safe to spray WD-40 on the chain to disperse water, and then lube it with chain wax or something? It worked well on all my dirt bikes. Should I clean the chain every time with kerosene? Also, when the bike is idling the lights seem to dim very slightly, when I rev it they get bright again, is this normal? It has a brand new battery. It starts right up easily. Thanx for the help, I appreciate it.

1. clean the chain w/ WD-40
2. ride around the block
3. chain wax it

 

There is debate over weather or not WD will penetrate the O, X, XW rings of the chain and ruin the grease or not.
