Fender eliminator kit question

Default Fender eliminator kit question

so another question lol, i searched and couldnt find anything, so what happens to the lock for the rear seat when you buy a eliminator kit?

The seat lock is relocated.

To wherever that particular FE has it designed to go. For example, my CWFE relocates it to the center of the FE behind the license plate mount.

I didnt like the idea of a keyhole hidden underneath, behind the plate somewhere and struggling to find it every i want to release my helmet.

An alternative is to route a hidden wire with a finger loop on the end down somewhere next to the battery tray (other end attached to the metal nub on the release cable). No one will ever think to look for the hidden latch release and you can pop your seat lock in seconds with the keys in the ignition and bike running.

You've prob seen my pics of my homemade FE that I used to have when I still had my banana seat tail. I had my seat lock cable end/nub discretely routed to a tiny opening at the edge of the FE to operate just as you describe. A simple pull of that nub opened right up. Worked just fine & is a good option. When I did the split-seat conversion tho, I reinstalled the lock.
